The School of the Prophets
Thursday evenings, June 23 – August 11, 2011, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
at Freedom Fellowship Church, 5623 Gilliam Road, Orlando, FL 32818
What we will be doing:
This is a special program designed to teach, impart, and activate the prophetic gifting for the body of Christ. Students will receive biblical instruction and then be asked to participate in various ministry activation excercises. The teaching will use sound scriptural principles related to the importance of hearing and obeying God’s voice through the prophetic gift.
Why we will be doing it:
The ability to move in the spiritual gifts is vital to the body of Christ. Many believers have gifting but need training and impartation in the operation of the gifts. The gifts of the spirit are for the profit of the body of Christ. “But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7). If the gifts are good for the body of Christ then they need to be stirred up as much as possible. We have a commandment from Scripture to do this: “Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy” (1 Corinthians 14:1) and “Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy” (I Corinthians 14:39). The only school actually mentioned in the Bible was Samuel’s school of the prophets –“Then Saul sent messengers to take David, but when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing and presiding over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul; and they also prophesied” (1Samuel 19:20).
The Class:
Each class will consist of approximately one hour of instruction followed by a time of personal ministry training. Students will participate in personal ministry and be exhorted in the gift of prophecy.
Each participant will receive a certificate of completion.
The requirement for the certificate will be to attend at least seven sessions and actively participate in class.
There will be no cost for the program with simply a love offering to be received for each class.
ICM Students: Enrolled ICM students seeking degrees will follow their normal ICM guidelines.
